Under One Roof is a community heritage project based in and around St Mark’s Church in Shelton Stoke on Trent.
The aim of the project is to restore and conserve this important Edwardian building.
Under One Roof is funded by a major grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund with supporting funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, Staffordshire Historic Churches Trust, National Churches Trust, Whalley's Quarry and Edward Cadbury Charitable Trust.
Community Heritage activities include learning sessions, creative activities, talks, research and events which enable people to share and understand local heritage.
The project explores the history of migration into the area and those who came to work in the potteries, pits and steel works and more recent arrivals.
The National Lottery Heritage Funds has given us some funds to carry out urgent repairs to the roof so that the church stays weatherproof. Work has already started and you might have noticed the scaffolding and some activity at the Church.
